Malaysian and Singaporeans rarely comment, so kiasu and kiasi!But if you have a comment, even if it is negative, welcome..I have very thich skin, so let us be iron that sharpen iron...our arts will be better because of that.No, I have never gone to Art School or Poetry School........

Now that I have read back, learned how you do them, I will try...one more question tho...unlike cloth batik, you do not iron out, remove the wax...but leave it for texture?

Hi Pat, thanks for asking, the great thing about wax or candle on paper is that you can vary its size, and you also get an uneven edge.....click on my paintings and you enlarge it, see the lovely serrated edges, to high light these edges, I take a Chinese brush and with a touch of black create the margin of the serrated edges, can you see it, it is so fine that from a distance you dont see it but you get a fantastic effect from that.. touching with the black colour is best done when the colours are still wet, when dry you will only be outlining with black ...and thats very different, Actually this is just an extension of Batik but it is cheaper with paper...I dont know of anybody else who do this!!!Try it out and let me know, better still post it and I will come by.....I didnt go to art school, so apologies for my untechnical babbling description..!

Though I had not been posting much comment, (as for me its NOT 'Kiasu' or 'Kiasi' it's 'Piahsai'), I would like to let you know, I had been reading and viewing your blog constantly and keeping track of the number of hits via the counter reader - As
the increase in hits and comments makes your blog 'more' interesting.
For your infor...
On 1st August, 2006 the counter reading was 2,142 and today 30th August is 3,353.
May the counter reading increases rapidly as times goes 'beyond'...

I was looking forward to your visit although I just posted this afternoon. I was “studying” (actually scrutinizing) your while I accidentally clicked and it enlarged giving me an opportunity to see that there IS a sketch underneath them. I like the candles as well as the crayolas, but I think I will tick to the lightest fluorescent ones – like in “Nautilus Eye”.
I don’t quiet understand the use of the Chinese brush (got some!), will have to observe detail of yours closer…

My occupation, you ask?
I am “transitioning” to full time “Artist”, from (still) Facilitator and Speaker, which has been my main focus these past four years.
I have had “quiet a full life” and I am blessed with a creative streak that I apply to everything – thought, people, things, space……
I free-lanced most of my life, but my main occupation for more than 25yrs.
has been that of Interpreter and Translator.
I am still curios about “dream maker”… sounds like the perfect “occupation”.

Rice paper perhaps? Used it many, many years ago - it was available in rolls...
