PARODY OF HEALING

Parody Of Healing
"When she thinks of home,/ the word home echoes
in her mouth / like the dead / echoes in the
mouth of the living." "Home" by Selima Hill

I like Selima Hill's poetry, here
are some lines that pair oddly
with her poem.
When I think of healing, the word
healing echoes in my mouth
like the word healing in the mouth
of a dead as he passes through
twelve pearl gates en route to a Paris
whose walls are adorned with twelve
types of precious stones
jasper joy
sapphire sparkle
chalcedony cheer
emerald elation
sardonyx singing
sardius smiles
chrysolite celebration
beryl bliss
topaz tranquility
chrysoprase contentment
jacinth joviality
amethyst ascension
And suddenly I think healing
means home Posted by Picasa

thank you

Ah, Aurora, you are always the first! Thanks for coming by, Jon, Andrew and Floots....the "Paris" is of course a metaphor for "Home" where the city has walls whose foundation are adorned with twelve different types of precious jewels but the treasures that are so sought after is joy ,peace, smiles laughter, celebration not the priceless stones that we adorn ourselves with...oh that we might all be adorn with such jewels! I think Don would love this, I really should have dedicated this poem to him, just slipped my mind, but it is never too late! For you, Don!

Very beautiful words. "And suddenly I think healing means home." This brings tears to my eyes in truth as it touches me very deeply. Beautiful.

And lovely, lovely batik image. You are such an inspiration. I posted my first piece in this method at my blog home last night. Your inspiration has brought such joy to my spirit, and I bring you my words and heart of gratitude.

Blessings of peace and joy be with you.

Brilliant! Your art and your painting! Healing is home...wow. Never thought of it that way. I really like that analogy.

Thanks Paula, Jon, Masago, UButterfly, Serenity, Krystyna, Angeldust, polona.....yes the last line came in a flash, I had to labour over the precious stones, I forgot I should have asked Angeldust and the work would have taken just a few seconds!!Anyone reading this please click on Serenity and see that absoluuuutely marrvveellous paper batik montage she created, I would be proud to have it on the wall in my clinic next of course to the one that Angeldust will be giving me...Hey Angel &Serenity go to collages next, I have finished four and will post them next, hopefully...bless you all!!!!!

Dr. Ng,
You are very generous with your words of encouragement, and I humbly thank you for them.

If I can hope to someday create anything even a fraction of the beauty you create, it will be bliss.

As you were the inspiration and the generous advisor in my joyful immersion in watercolor (and it is a montage), it is of course yours to do with whatever you like.

Joyful, Love-filled blessings to you.

Oh... Kianseng dear,

If if I could "only " understand clearly what "you" mean by collages...
I understand what a collage is. I have done many and in my workshops...

What I do not understand is the processes you are suggesting...
As you can observe - at times I a unable to see the trees from the forest!

Can you please explain how your "collage" is executed?

Thanking you in advence and wishing you and your loved ones peace and joy

Hello Dr. Ng, just had to say how moving your series has been, both the artwork and writing. Home is indeed healing in many ways. Thanks for your great comments on my blog and if you want to link to me I'd be honored (I've already linked to this wonderful blog at mine). Best wishes, have a great day,

Bob

It looks like everybody seems to like "healing means home"....Anybody caught "the lines that pair oddly "(ie parody!), those reading this go to Angeldust and savour her Earth Series, I guarantee you will be enchanted with simplicity clothed in the wedding gown of the rainbow..hey thats a nice metaphor, maybe the start of another poem, eh?

I can only echo what has already been so wonderfully said here. I love the ending, especially as mental illness always seems so hopeless. Well done!!

Your poems and artwork on mental illness trigger deep thoughts in me. I’ve always been interested in this reason-defying domain of human nature. Thanks for sharing! crnuf

Now, that I understand you "montage" I can better understand the painting. Amazing!

Dear PlusUltra (and Sylvia?)

Thank you for your words.
Yeah... there is something about the "Earth" series...
Today I got a bid to match the reserve I had on the first one. (ahhh!!!)
I also cried because it means I do have to part with it!

I finally located some wonderful rice paper 38" x 50' After running all over three Cities in the
the lower mainland.

I will try to follow your advise closely - in 2-3 weeks as I need to put my focus somewhere else for a bit.
Regarding the "montage" I will have to experiment with the Picasa program - I am a hopeless klutz - that is Yiddish for something "all thumbs" (in this case for someone "technically challenged").

Your support and comments are invaluable. Thank you very much.

Love and joy to you, Sylvia and yours

Thanks Angeldust, I will wait patiently for your next series....I wonder if you have seen the blog "Non-Linear Poetry", I am not sure how the collage is done but I 'think' there is montage there, the effect is stunning, the artist has over 2oo pieces of excellent art there, I took time to view the whole series which he has posted on flickr, blessings to you and yours!

Hello there

I went to non-linear it looks like they made some changes.
"They", as it appears they are a huuuge team.
WIll have to go back, as I see some montage there and in another blog.
Nothing opened for me there this PM.

Greetings

What medium do you use for your paintings? They look so fragile, yet the colours make me feel happy. Vulnerable but happy.

The poem is beautiful.

Beautiful lines that takes us beyond the base. Sad to see this series ending; you gave it such a human and compassionate dimension. Your energies were well spent :-)

Looking forward to your next poem.
